Gold Rush Recap

Petaluma, CA - The girls 101 Lacrosse program descended on Petaluma to compete in the Gold Rush tournament.  It was a hard fought weekend against some strong teams.

Starting off the tournament our 14U girls opened strong with wins over Rize Starz and ADVNC Evolve. On Sunday the girls got off to a slow start and couldn't overcome that to fall to LaxUHR 8-5 in the semifinal.  In the third place game, the team battled but lost a one goal game to Verve 7-6.  The team got bettered, improved their skills, and continued to compete.

Our HS Gold team opened their weekend with a dynamic win 11-0.  In the second game, they battled but were unable to find the back of the net. A few saves turned into breaks the other way and they dropped the game 9-4.  The team battled back on Sunday with a win over Verve HS Teal 8-6 before dropping their final game of the weekend 4-3 to Rize Crimson in a back in forth battle of the goalies!

HS Black took the field late and opened with a loss to Talons Silver before getting their first win in their second game.  They took the field early on Sunday morning with an 8am affair.  They took an early lead but unable to get some key finishes down the stretch they dropped that game 9-6 to Rize Black.  In their final game of the day, they were able to put some in the net and walk away with a victory.

"Our girls competed at a high level, got better, and we continued to grow as a program" stated Director Chris Gregorio.  "There are some clear things we will be working on at practice, but we are looking forward to our preparation for our final exam at Sandstorm."
